Situated in West Co Wicklow one hour south of Dublin off the main Dublin Carlow road, and 3 miles from the village of Dunlavin , Rathsallagh is a large comfortable house originally converted from Queen Anne Stables in 1798. Rathsallagh is a beautiful and relaxing place with its 530 acres of peaceful parkland an award winning walled garden and its own 18 hole Championship Golf Course all surrounded by spectacular and mature trees.
The food at Rathsallagh has been described as Country House cooking however we would like to think that it is that and much more. We have an International brigade of young and enthusiastic chefs in our kitchen. They have between them gathered cooking experience and techniques from around the World and they are now constantly seeking to improve the variety and style of our menus here at Rathsallagh. Game in season and fresh fish from Irelands coast line are specialities. We have two large modern well equipped kitchens one in the Golf Club and one in the main house each with brigades from 8 to 10 chefs in each during high season.
Rathsallagh itself has earned numerous awards for its cooking and hospitality ( see below ) and is listed in some of the most prestigious publications including The Blue Book and the Bridgestone Guide.
Rathsallagh is a family run enterprise and a member of the O'Flynn family is always present on the premises. We like to give our guests the personal touch and will always look for staff who are outgoing, enthusiastic, willing to learn, hard working and diligent. We will always encourage them to be as creative as they can and we will always give our full support to dedication, flair and innovation. Our door is always open to our staff and we are always willing to listen and learn ourselves and also to help resolve any problems or difficulties. We are participating in the Quality Employer Program and we were accredited to that program in October 1998.
There are staff privileges for the facilities at Rathsallagh, and if you play Golf or tennis - playing snooker or just generally living in a large beautiful county estate then Rathsallagh is the place for you. We generally have up to 25 staff living on the premises at any one time. We have a maximum of 2 person per room, all accommodation is provided with washing machines, dryers, ironing boards and cooking facilities. We also have 3 staff common rooms, between them equipped with Internet Access, DVD Player, TV etc.
The minimum contract period is 6 months. Applications should include a C.V. and written references and can be e mailed or posted to the company. Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Ireland. Applications for summer work / placement must be made no later than the 15th January of the year of placement. All applications must be accompanied by a cover letter written in English. We regret that we will not reply to or acknowledge applications not complying with our requirements.
