Hole 2, Par 4 - 454 yards
The second is one of the best par 4 holes on the course, long and "blind" from the tee you have no real indication as to the best spot to aim at. The ideal tee shot is long enough to get past the second copse of trees on the left of the fairway and as near the centre of the mown surface as possible.
A good drive will leave you about 150 + yards from the green and as you walk over the slight rise in the fairway to take your second you can immediately see how important your first shot on this hole is. Your second, after a good drive, is comparatively easy and although the green is narrow at the front and well guarded by bunkers on both sides you have a clear view and should be able to reach the putting surface easily enough.
Once on the excellent green you will notice for the first time that although there are many undulations and slopes they are gradual and you do not need to over estimate the amount of swing on the putt to get close to the hole. This is one of my favorite holes at Rathsallagh and a par 4 here is always a great result.
Our Clubhouse overlooks the 9th, 10th and 18th holes and is the perfect location to watch your partners finish their round from. Excellent food and beverages await you in this fine facility upon your return. Our Golf Shop stocks an excellent selection of clothing, balls and accessories, and Club, Shoe and Buggy and Electric Golf Cart Hire are all available on request.
